What we do.

$100 Program

While on duty, every Kirkland Firefighter crew can now spend up to $100 to assist someone in need. Our Crews are often in the best position to see what an immediate need really is.. and now they have money at their disposal to make a difference. Whether it is purchasing needed groceries, a place to stay for the night, a meal, or a cab ride home, the crew can now make (and have been making) , an immediate difference in the lives of those in need.

Gift Baskets for significant life events.

Our outreach team members (2 per shift) coordinate with members and then send out a gift basket funded by KFFBA to any members after the birth of a child or a death in the family of our members or greater firefighting or law enforcement community.

Community Partnerships

KFFBA is proud to continue to network with the Kirkland community, schools, and social service agencies. We have and will continue to support local foundations such as Hopelink that reach out and help the members of the community who are at their greatest need.

KFFBA also has been a strong supporter of the Eileen Trentman memorial Scholarship. The scholarship awards youth that show involvement in a volunteer capacity in the city. KFFBA board member Megan Keyes has been on the the scholarship committee to award the scholarship for many years now.

Here to help.

KFFBA was started by Kirkland Firefighters and their spouses in 2001. Due to the nature of our job we are in contact with people in dire situations and needs. We are able to help with immediate emergencies but situations where being able to help beyond the scope of our job often arise and being able to offer help is present. KFFBA is a tool that Kirkland firefighters can utilize to help people pay for food or a place to stay for the night, or whatever the need may be.

We also support our fellow firefighters in times of grief and benevolence. It could be a medical issue, death of a family member, or sadly the death of a fellow firefighter.
